Disabilities Are Only in the Mind I like all the normal things, movies, eating out, flea markets, garage sales, art galleries and walking in the park. I like most animals, have a cat and a dog--dog thinks he's a boy since I put my entire ‘empty nest’ syndrome in him when my boys grew up and left. People say he is smarter than most dogs they know. I have two grown sons who live locally and are great young men with their own families and businesses. I'm a Meme (grandma) X6 and love it when I get to see them. That generation (young adults) seem to be much busier than we were at their age, juggling many different things at once, but maybe we were too and I just don't remember any longer I'm a Christian and my church life is very important to me. I don't believe any particular religion is going to heaven and the rest not, but rather if you believe Jesus died to save us you are. I was raised Catholic but have been out of the Catholic church since my parents were divorced when I was in high school. I have since attended several different denominations. I am now attending a Baptist church.
I'm an artist and my work is done using various types of recycled media. I paint and decoupage pieces. I sell some of my work in a shop on the beach. I also write for a site on line.
As for disability..I can walk, talk and hear. I have a problem with my spine/discs and joints. I do need to sit more often than a 'normal' person and can't lift much weight. It doesn't matter to me how much or what type a disability anyone has, I am looking for an honest, sincere, compassionate guy. If he can't walk or talk but we have that chemistry, similar likes and interests, then we have what's important. I'm told I'm pretty much weight-proportionate, but I say I could lose 10-15 lbs. I'm very honest, and seek the same in a partner. I guess some could say a negative character flaw I have is wearing my heart on my sleeve.
