my disability happened in 2014, i woke up one morning and couldn't stand or anything. doctors where i used to live had no clue what was wrong so i decided to go to the cleveland clinic main campus hospital in cleveland ohio and after 3 months of intensive tests on my legs, my neurologist found the accurate diagnosis. i've got sps (aka stiff person syndrome). everyday i work out, have physical therapy 2x a week to help strengthen my legs and my therapist is helping me walk again. some days i get frustrated since i want to be able to walk again immediately but i have to mentally tell myself rome wasn't built in a day & all good things come to those who are patient. my outlook on life has changed since i became disabled but in my opinion it has changed for the better, my opinion is this is just a bump in the road that i can overcome with determination. i like to do just about anything, and if i am told i can't do something well,i look for ways around it if at all possible to where i can do it, and if all resources are used or unavailable to suit my condition then at least no one can say i didn't try. people always judge a book by its cover, and i say that's crap, cause it's what's on the inside that makes it a book in the first place, not just the cover. so, i don't want anyone feeling sorry for me or thinking i'm a push-over because i'm not. i'm strong willed, smart with very high iq, and determined to walk again no matter what.
