I survived severe aplastic and Myelodysplastic Sydrome, (blood cancer). A stem cell transplant saved my life but it caused another disease called Graft-Versus-Host disease. I fought for my life three times, and the stem cell transplant finally cured my diseases. However, no one told me that I would be diagnosed with GVHD. This means that the donor's cells started to attack different parts of my body. God gave me a lot of strength and discipline to battle this disease. I presently suffer from severe dry eyes. I was also diagnosed with scarring alopecia as a result of the chemotherapy that they used in the stem-cell transplant. This means that I have a large bald spot on my head. I wear wigs, extensions and headwraps to cover it.
I retired from my profession early since I started teaching when I was younger. My dream was to become a teacher. I started teaching in high school as part of a teaching internship program. I also have experience teachiing the healing arts at an assisted living home.
I am also an artist. I create inspirational music, art and books to help people who are striving to overcome extreme emotional and physical adversities in their lives. I also overcame many extreme emotional adverisites in life. I spent my entire life working on myself spiritually, emotionally and physically, since I believe that they are all integrated to create sound health.
I am also a member of SAG-AFTRA. I spent years auditioning as a dancer prior to getting admitted into this union. I have studied the arts extensively.
My dream is to inspire people with the creative content of my literary and artistic works. My faith in God has helped me overcome many extreme hardships in life.
