independent female incomplete quad My life is and has been, at the very LEAST, "unorthodox;" kinda makes it hard to decide where to start. I guess you already know from my Profile "Title" that I'm a quadriplegic, you're still reading this. ivy league grad without the blue blood, retired navy diver, "second career" as masters-prepared nurse. well-traveled, used to be very athletic--esp. water sports, and used to be quite attractive. becoming a quad (esp. because of HOW it happened, and what's happened since) has deeply affected my self-esteem and hopefulness for the future. i want to believe that communicating with those who REALLY understand can change that by revealing new ideas, hooking me up with a few true friends and, maybe, a significant other with whom i could actually HAVE a life and feel in love/loved again.
