Can anyone else relate to this? One day I had an insight. I started realizing that life didn't need to be always because of or in spite of my visual impairment. Obviously, everything about us has some effect on us, but I suddenly realized that everyone on Earth is disabled--even the so-called "normal." People drive because they can't run at tens of miles or kilometers per hour. People use airplanes because we were born without wings. We use ladders because, no matter who we are, sometimes none of us are "tall enough." Once I started seeing this, I decided I'm all of me, not primarily a label indicating that I have a lack or a deficiency when everyone else has limitations as well, even if they're unlabeled. I'm on a few other sites here, in case you're curious. I have some very liberal views about things that, frankly, most people in this society don't share, and it would be nice to find others who do share them.
