I am a single gentleman who became disabled when MS (multiple sclerosis) came into my life in
February, 2006, at the age of 58. It has disabled me
to the point where I have a right drop foot but walk
with a cane and the use of an electronic device
called a walkaide. I am mobile but slow and can
still drive a car. Otherwise, I am a primary progres-
sive MS person who experienced my one and only
major exacerbation in 2/06. Except for the obvious
limp in my gait, most people would not know I
have MS. However, I am almost 5 years into having
it, and I am beginning to experience some weak-
ness in my right arm and hand. I am always open
to talking about it.
I am a retired educator who taught high school
vocational business classes for 30 years. I really
enjoyed teaching business skills and job employ-
ment skills to the 16 to 18 age group. I am fortu-
nate to have retired in the California State Teachers
Retirement System so I am comfortable financially
but certainly not rich. I do what I can to be involved
in my grandchildren's (they are 8 & 12) lives by
volunteering at their schools and helping their
parents financially.
Finally, I enjoy movies, music of all types, and
just spending time in the comfort of my apart-
ment. I do not travel at this time but will venture
out for shows and dinner engagements with friends.
I have not been dating since my divorce in 2007
(not due to my MS) and the onset of MS. I am
interested in meeting some ladies who like to
laugh, have good conversation, and enjoy the
simple pleasures in life.
I am venturing out for the first time to a web-
site where I might find some interesting women
with a similar outlook for dating, fun, and
conversation. I remain positive and optimistic
about my future, though I recognize the future
will bring me physical challenges.
