I volunteered at a residential disabled girls home from the age of 11 when I reasonably fit and stayed until 20 escorting them to swimming and learnt a new way of teaching. On arriving in Yorkshire I started swimming clubs for the disabled. I also was in charge of over 400 House renovations.
