Hi, my name is Bethany and I am 20 years old. Some of things I really enjoy doing are playing sports, traveling, listening to music, hanging out with friends and family, spending time outdoors, reading, shopping, talking on the phone, watching TV and movies, and working with animals. I am currently involved with the Special Olympics, and have been for the past 8 years. I currently compete in bowling, swimming, and track and field. rnI am also a global messenger for Special Olympics, which is where I travel around the country to promote Special Olympics, giving speeches to various groups of people. I have been doing this now for about 2 years. One of my greatest passions in life is working with animals--I currently work as a veterinary assistant at a local veterinary hosptial, and in addition I have four beautiful kitties at home, as well as a parakeet. I also love spending time outside, listening to the birds sing and simply just being a part of nature and enjoying all the sights and sounds of it. I am looking for people who share some of my same interests, someone who is fun, eneregetic, has a good sense of humor, and someone who is kind, loyal, and will accept me for who I am. I am dealing with a developmental disorder called autism, which has affected my life in several ways. I am a lot more social than the average autistic person, and, although I am shy, have no trouble communicating once I get to know someone, which doesn't take me long.
