`That's really interesting. I'm not aware of any leading actors/actresses who use wheelchairs and I think there's a market for that now. Marlee Matlin, who's deaf, has acted in movies but I haven't seen or heard much about her lately. You mentioned Tom Cruise, but of course he merely played someone in a wheelchair, and Raymond Burr also played someone in a wheelchair as "Ironsides." But maybe if Hollywood would open its eyes they could find good talent who's also disabled. I'm sure there's a market for that and it is time to get a new set of heroes!

`Christopher Reeve (yes, related to 1950's super man; George Reeve) did 1 or 2 movies after his accident. It was where he had a squirrel (?) monkey helping him at home, or something...anyway the movie with Reeve is "Rear Window" the [remake] of the 1954 version...which was also a good one; Hitchcock & Jim Stewart . See 'the internet movie database'

`Director Ron Howard has done TONS of movies with actors/actresses in wheelchairs. One that comes to mind is a flick called "Skyward".. with Bette Davis. Haven't seen it for years, but if you ever run across it, I highly recommend it. We need more people like him in the industry with a better understanding that being in a chair doesn't (necessarily) mean being in a coma!
