`Hi Lisa and welcome to this group. I know I don't exactly live right around the corner, after all across the Atlantic is a pretty big corner! I haven't had much luck with long-distance relationships, but you're not so far away I can't say "hi" and welcome! But I'm also new to this group and the forums need to get activated a bit more.
But have fun here and feel free to say hello!
Bill (call sign is Cedarloaf)

`Good evening, Roy. I guess it isn't just my imagination but there really isn't much going on here. People do need to chat, other than just saying "Hello, see ya later." And Roy, BTW haven't met you yet. How long have you been here? We do need to kick start this. Maybe ask an overall question like why did you choose this site? Or, Tell us about yourself, Or, politics will ALWAYS get something started! Because no matter where people come from, they all hate politicians!!! I can go on a rant about this debt ceiling brouhaha in Washington. Not that this has much to do with meeting people. But what does everyone think?

`Hello again cedar, I have been looking at some of the posts, and on some there has been no chat for over a year, sad really when there are so many good folk on here all alone with no one to talk to, & all they have to do is "Just say Hi" and leave the rest to you & me and of course our very own Lisa. Cedar as for politicians our party that is in power at the mo is the conservatives & they are the working man dry, while living the high life themselves same old same old ay mate, the same the world over, I just keep thinking why the hell do we the people let them get away with so much lol. Anyway cedar I hope you are fit & well to the very best of your ability, keep walking forward mate & never look back, catch you soon Roy!!

`Hi Roy, It's Sunday morning over here in the U.S. and I really enjoyed your post. Those politicians of yours sound just like ours. We have people in Washington who are bickering about this debt ceiling thing like shoolboys in a schoolyard scuffle. It is ridiculous. I think your conservatives are closely akin to our Republicans. I prefer the Democrats myself, which are probably more aligned with your Labour party. But even the Democrats are up to no good. All they do is point fingers at each other and they don't work for the good of the people. And even at the county level, we have county commissioners who need to be voted out of office immediately! They are listening to the developers with big bucks who want to pave over this rural county and turn it into a giant bedroom community. And you're right - why do we let 'em get away with this in the first place? I have a good mind NOT to vote, but that only gives the edge to those who I don't wanna see in office, so it'll be off to the polls I'll go!
As for posts here, looks like we're starting to do what the forums are designed to do! I haven't delved into the forums as deeply as you, but I can believe that there has been no chat for over a year. Now itsn't that pathetic? After all, doing a forum doesn't cost anything except a few minutes of your time and you find out there are plenty of other people who feel the same way you do, no matter where they live. But other than ranting about politics, I am fine and hope you're bearing up as well.
Well, chat with ya again soon. Take care! Bill

`Hi, I'm new on here as well so I haven't checked all this site out yet but from reading your posts, it seems to be dead I came across Disabled Passions because I was looking for dating sites for devotees and people with disabilities. So I had hoped this site would be buzzing to be honest with ya. Oh I'm Lisa by the way, I'm a Liverpool based choreographer/Workshop Leader with Quadriplegia Cerebal Palsy and no verbal communication. With regards to politics I think there needs to be a vote of no confidence or something because people can't survive (can't spell) for any longer under this government.
Ps I'm not normally negative.

`Hi Lisa, I'm Bill and I enjoyed reading your thoughts about things as I'm new to this site, too. Well guess what! The site is dead, and like you, I was hoping it would be really buzzing. After all, this is the best way for you to communicate with others and I know you'd just love to let others know what you're thinking.
As far as the politics are concerned, I totally agree with you. You must've been in touch with our problems here in Washington because I wonder how much longer we can survive with our government. They can't or won't get together on this debt ceiling business and I wonder why we sent those clowns to Washington in the first place! Sounds like that's what you're facing over in the UK. We're going to vote in November so hopefully my fellow voters will finally get smart and throw some of those idiots out of office. Sadly, those who replace this crew may be just as bad, if not worse, than what we've got. But like you, I'm not a negative person but there are times when something's gotta give. But I was glad to read about you and hopefully you'll have more to say. By the way, your spelling looks fine!
Bill

`Howdy Roy, glad you're back. We could do the Lisa 1 and 2 bit, or Lisa from Liverpool or Lisa West. It's funny you were talking about names from England. My last name is Bygrave, which, of course, is English. There's a little tiny town called Bygrave somewhere over near Cambridge. I've never been but my parents stopped there some years ago. Basically just an Anglican church and not much else. I think the original Bygraves lived by a trench, hence the name. I'm just glad I'm not a mortician! I have no idea what a Scouser is, new one on me! But to me, Liverpool will always mean the Beatles. I know I've been on a rant about Washington, but even today (Friday) they are still bickering about the debt ceiling and the deadline is this Tuesday. I generally try to be optimistic, but this time I doubt if they could come to a resolution. All they've been doing is agreeing to disagree. Obama has his ideas and won't give in, and Boehner (pron. Bay-ner) the speaker of the house, is just as hard-headed. Soooo, guess what happens in November? I've told you that already. And the stock market people are now very nervous with this impasse. I hope things are fine in England today and for me, it is still very hot in Florida.
Till next time, take care and have fun! Bill

`Hi Bill, We had quite a famous Bygrave by the name of Max, abit of a song & dance man!! any relation?. I looked up the little village of Bygrave, and it does sound like a Lovers retreat, small, quite, and of course the church lol. I passed my test Bill with a 94% score, so on a high over that one. Yes you are right mate,Liverpool = John Paul George & Ringo!! Abbey road & many of the finest songs ever written. I heard today Bill that your politicians had come to a compromise to try to halt the American economy going into meltdown!! I hope it works out well for everyone what ever the outcome.. Nice chatting Bill, will catch up with you again soon. Roy.

`Hi Roy, thought I'd stop by for a bit and catch up. You heard right. Our political wizards in Washington finally, at almost the 11th hour, passed that debt ceiling thing to keep our economy from going down in flames. It may be too late for most of them and that will be reflected at the next election. I won't be returning the incumbents to office myself, but we'll have to see if the wannabees sound even worse! It's always been that way. These politicians promise the moon and it's time someone said, "yeah, yeah, heard it all before." And I have heard of Max Bygraves (with an s) I don't know if he's still around or not. You may have heard or seen him perform. Not sure if he's any relation, unless he's very, very, very distant. He was on the Ed Sullivan Show once. That dates me! But of course the Beatles have been phenomenal in the variety and quality of their music. I was never a fan of their earliest stuff but they really grew into it as time went on and they have made their mark. Really quite an accomplishment. I always thought John Lennon's assassination was the most senseless thing I've ever heard of. But anyway, glad you passed your test with a 94 - great score. I've always felt that way in passing a major test. Now I feel great if I can pass a cholesterol test!!
Nice chatting with you and I will see you later. Bill

Fat chance ay Bill. What has happened to Lisa 1 & 2 Bill i hope there patience has not run out already lol!!. Well mate got to go but will catch you soon,be well & good luck in all that you do. Roy!

`Hi Roy, Just a quiet Sunday here and I'm fine, although kinda wilted from the heat! I don't know about the two Lisas. Hopefully their patience hasn't run out. Although this site has a lot of options and "places to go," it still doesn't seem very lively. Dunno why that is. I may get kicked out for touting another site but I've been getting more "bites" on Dating4Disabled. It's international so you might want to give it a try. There are quite a few women who live in England. I'm looking for someone closer to home of course. It seems there are new members on that every day, so the selection seems to be good. I did chat with someone from the Montreal area but that's over 1,000 miles away! So I'll keep trying. I happened to stumble onto your profile and sorry to hear you lost a couple of fingers. That really sux! But hopefully you're adjusting well and you've visited some good pubs! The political situation is still rather shaky especially since the USA's credit rating has been downgraded. It doesn't bode well for Obama. Of course the Republican contender they'll choose next year could be millions times worse! And I heard or read a rumor the Democrats may come up with someone to challenge Obama. So it'll be interesting if unstable times ahead. Well take care until next time! Bill
