Hi my name is Steph dumped by boyfriend who hated wheelchair

I am a sufferer of Hypermobility syndrome, fibromyalgia and oestioarthritis. The hypermobility,bendy person disease, I have had all my life but only recently got diagonosed with fibro and the arthritis is a result of hypermobility and old age! My Mum and Dad, in theitr 70's have bought me a wheelchair for my 50th, do parents ever stop caring? I could of cried and cried. When my 'boyfriend' of the last 2 years found out he dumped me by email...what a coward! It has opened a new world for me though, when I am tired and in pain and cannot walk another step...I can be pushed around and still get to join in and enjoy myself. In itself it has its own problems but I will never take for granted the compasion of other user's and their carer's. The general public however have a lot to learn. I am not deaf, or stupid, or invisible!

`Its wonderful your parents care and love you very much! I have a different story as to my parents. My Mother loved me very much. My Father was a different story as it was an ever uphill battle to get "needed" things and this was when I was a child! Loose the boyfriend! If one can't look beyound the chair he is a much bigger looser! Supershine

Sorry to hear of the problems with your losses physical abilities. But the boyfriend? Good Riddance, I say. I know is must be difficult, but when someone you love limits there love for you to your "healthyness, it's them with the real problem.

It happens to a lot of us though. My wife of forty years stopped sleeping with me when I had to start using a wheelchair too, so I can understand your pain. Maybe you'll have better luck in the future. I hope so.

u found out the hard way, why they put in the marriage rites sickness or health..even throu yall wasnt married..the pain is still the same. that y i left my last bf 17yrs ago,when i realize that i was gettin sick.even throu he was a paramdic(my boyfriend) he was selfish and inconsiderate person.he is the reason y disable ppl live in fear of being left alone,if u cant get ur mate 2 accept u..how can u get the world 2?
