I was born with a developmental disorder called autism--fortunately, I'm on the higher end of the disorder, and am capable of doing many things. Autism is a relatively fast-growing disorder, so I thought it'd be fun to create a form that allows people with autism and other disabilites to discuss what it's like to have a disability and so forth. happy day, everyone!

I have Aspergers myself but I don't have an official diagnoses. People in my area (even some so-called experts) seem to know very little about Aspergers & they seem to think autism is a form of mental ----------- I have other disabilities in addition to AS that are really liming me with finding someone

`I know this thread was made a while back. I just want to say that I have high functioning autism and Asperger's Syndrome. I got diagnosed with it December of 2010 and it's been an eye opener for me as I've known I was much different from kids in school and never knew what it was. I love the fact that I have it because we were born with a special gift. Also there is a character on the TV show Parenthood who has Asperger's Syndrome. The publicity that the syndrome we have is amazing. The actor doesn't have Asperger's but he does so well at playing a child with it.
I do not see it as a mental -----------. It is far from that. I am lucky to have an amazing family and the friends I have. I do have friends and they love me which is amazing.

`Sometimes, ASD can be the icing on the cake. Look at all the models of AS and ASD. (proud to say that I made the video and music myself)
